Online Dating World

It has become an online dating world. You are actually more likely to meet someone interested in dating on the computer than at the convenience store. This does not mean that you have to go to an online dating service and pay tons of membership fees to pick up ladies but these services almost always guarantee a hook up. You can go the route of the free networking sites but there are no sure things.

Out of my own personal experience the first connection I made in the online dating world was with one of these paid services. This cute Latino girl e-mailed me.

It was a home run. I did find though, people solely looking to date through these paid online dating services were really looking for a “serious commitment.

Think about it, if a girl is going to throw down some money to meet someone, it is not because they want to select their next booty call, they want Prince Charming, The White Wedding and they want to live happily ever after.

I signed up for an account at one of the major blog networks. They may as well be called “Dating Blogs”. Not only do you have a great opportunity to meet nice lovely ladies of all races, shapes and sizes but you can do so without having to spend any money. You can browse through all the profiles of ladies meeting your specified search criteria in a radius close to home.

After narrowing down your search you can check out their page which allows the girls to create some pretty interesting sites with music, pictures and all different types of “spirit”.

While the initial introduction might have moved from meeting a nice girl on line at the supermarket to meeting the girl of your dreams online at the “Super Meat Market of Dating” at least the stores in cyber space never close and you can do your “shopping” from home. While there were several pros and con to each type of online service, remember the goal is for the actual date, or is it?

Make Online Dating Work

There are, however, some obvious dangers associated with online dating. The most common of these are false profiles leading to misconceptions and disappointments about potential partners and security issues such as date rape and kidnapping upon meeting people initially met on the internet. This does not make online dating an unsuitable choice as the same risks if not worse are encountered by those who stick to the traditional modes of dating.

Initially the idea of dating on the internet was associated with a lot of social stigma. Come the 90’s and following the release of the Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan box office hit “You’ve Got Mail”, online dating started being regarded as an effective and intelligent way for people to meet and even start relationships. Online dating become a favored method especially for busy career people who had little time to socialize.

In traditional dating people are restricted to talking to people present in their social setting and people who one has no idea about their likes and dislikes or even their personal compatibility. Online dating provides the element of selectivity where the users are able to browse their potential partners profiles before actually communicating with them.

Online Chat Room

On the Internet there are many chat room communities that provide a venue where individuals from all walks of life can engage in a discussion regarding topics that are amendable to everyone.

Many chat rooms have set rules and guidelines that users are expected to follow. These rules and guidelines are imposed to ensure that no member is offended during the discussion. Likewise, maintaining proper etiquette when chatting ensures an enjoyable chatting experience.

Maintain an appropriate decorum in chat rooms; If you want sex-oriented conversation go to an adult site that encourages that kind of behavior. However, if you are looking for a serious relationship, adult sites are not for you as most of the chatters there are simply looking for fun and sex.

Refrain from giving out vital personal information about yourself such as your home address, telephone number, work address/telephone or the location of your office. For teenagers or students do not give out personal information for your parents or your own information, such as the name and location of your school or your daily schedule. Giving this kind of information out exposes your and your family to danger.

Don’t send your picture or anything else without first checking the background of the person to whom you’re sending the photos. Use instinct and good judgment. If you feel like uncomfortable and uncertain whether you should send the photo or not, the best decision is not to send.

Avoid responding to mean messages or any message that makes you feel uncomfortable. Responding only encourages more nasty messages to be sent to you. Don’t waste your time and effort on meaningless messages unless you are the type of person who loves being harassed by other people. Report or contact the chat room administrator for help in disciplining rude posters.

If you want to be respected while chatting online, be sure to use respectable user names or nicknames for posting. Especially for women, avoid sexually suggestive names that will arouse the wrong kind of attention, and less than decent conversations. When deciding on a name to use think about your best qualities and the kind of persons you want to attract.

Never ever get together with someone you just met online. Bring a friend or a family member with you. Never, ever meet them alone. If you do meet, be sure to do so in a very public place for added safety.

The problem with bragging during chats is that in a way you are sending out a signal to those who could defraud you. Your best bet is to limit any information about yourself that you may want to brag about online.
